DAN DARE WINNER
14/12/07: The winner of our recent Dan Dare competition
in partnership with Virgin Comics was Ian
Utley from Bournemouth
(even if he doesn't know what MMs are).
The name of Digby's
pet alien in the original Dan Dare series in the original Eagle was
of course Stripey who, as the fab web site dandare.org.uk relates,
first encountered by Dan and Co on the planet Cryptos during the Rogue
Planet adventure. Stripey became very fond
of Digby and "Flamer" Spry,
becoming rather like a loyal pet. He was considered a highly intelligent
creature and proved to be an invaluable member of the team, helping in
the defeat of the Phants before accompanying the team back to Earth where
once again he proved his worth in the struggle against The Mekon and his
army of robots.
